Message From The Governor Of Sikkim

I congratulate each person engaged with Sikkim Biodiversity Conservation and Forest Management Project, a program assisted by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), on the occasion of the first issue of quarterly Newsletter.

I am sure the activities envisaged under this Project will cover key areas of biodiversity conservation, ecotourism and scientific management of forest areas with active involvement of local communities.

It is equally important for the Project to focus on environmental conservation and harmonized socio-economic development. Our endeavour should be to protect our rich natural heritage while carefully exploiting its economic potential.
